About gtq088
A hobby pianist, Male, born in 1975.
Occupation: physics researcher.
I used much time for piano playing in my university days until 22 years of age although I have never tried to become a professional musician. My best moment as a pianist is a qualification for a final (national) audition when I was studying Debussy's Poissons d'or.
I had a long break in the performance after 2007 when I played Schumann's Toccata. Then stopped playing and enjoyed chess for several years before and after my daughter was born. In 2016 She began to play the piano and I made a come-back. I bought Yamaha N1 (electric piano) and later C3X (grand piano).
Nowadays practicing/recording studios with nice pianos are readily available with relatively low cost ($20/h). Also digital editing with PC, capable of cut-and-paste covers uneven performance. It is high time to come back and enjoy piano playing (and editing)... this time as long as I can do OK in my current occupation.
I somehow like Rudolf Firkušný, the Czech-born pianist, and his repertoire. I would like to play Janacek sometime soon.
English is not my mother language. I hope readers are patient enough.
