Welcome: Restarting Piano

Welcome to my first post in the first blog entry!

I picked up piano playing again after an interval of 5 years. I bought YAMAHA N1 (AvantGrand) for my daughter and this gave me the kick.

This was what I achieved in 2002 (Haydn's "Andante con variozioni"). I recorded it at home using a grand piano (Kawai) and a DAT recorder with a simple microphone (Sony). The DAT recorder broke recently and I got suddenly interested in salvaging the recordings. I salvaged piano variations by Rameau, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Dukas as well as some other pieces successfully.

Yes. This blog is for the future. My ambition is to continue the "study" of variations. The first target is Mendelssohn's "Variations sérieuses". I have to make some preparations on techniques before actually tackle this piece.
