Toccata from 6th Partita

When Franck composed Prelude, Choral and Fugue, his intention was apparently to leave his own footprints with traditional form of Bach. In almost every music note on this work it is pointed out that the theme of "Lament" is the core of Franck's fugue, which is clearly demonstrated in Bach's Toccata in 6th Partita. (Strange to say I was attracted by a pleasant similarity with another fugue in F# major in Well-Tempered Klavier-II instead, which is rather comical. I might play it sometime.)

Playing through a Partita is too difficult to me. Nevertheless the Toccata is somewhat reachable because of the technical nature. (The main part is a fugue. Consistency matters.) I started with defining the theme and put the trillers consistently. When done, some parts looked technically almost unplayable, but I gave it a try. (Later, I found a performance of Ichiro Kaneko in youtube. Here my intention was beautifully fulfilled.)

I do not know how to write in English, but Fugue is usually composed of strict counterpoints (showing the theme consistently) and relaxed passages ("zwischenspiel"(?), connecting and preparing for the next wave of themes, ). I like this toccata for the emotional variety of such passages. I tried to make it colorful with tempo rubato, soft pedal, and so on. This is not a standard Bach. My performance sounds amateurish, but I hope you are surprised in a pleasant way.
