I liked Pletnev's transcription of Nutcracker so much that I was somewhat frustrated with not having the Flower Waltz in that suite. I searched and found a promissing arranger (and competition-winner pianist) Gryaznov. His paraphrase of the Glinka's Waltz is a powerful masterpiece. I bought a copy (file) of this flower waltz although I couldn't find a performance in internet. A good news was that score looked fine with less notes than Glinka transcription and it was full of nice counterpoints. A bad news was that it requires large hands (or nice pedaling).

I practiced this piece for almost 2 months and still could not play comfortably. It seems that my sense of rhythm was lost when playing counterpoints (as experienced in Bach). I am proud of giving this piece a nice try and also playing broad (10th) codes by the left hand correctly in the finale, but the overall impression is not good. If you do not like my performance, please find the performance by Tomohiro Ushida or Gryaznov himself.
