I found a pretty arrangement of Star Wars when I was looking for music to play in the kindergarten. In most serious versions at Youtube the arrangers are trying to follow the original. There are a sequece of mysterious arpeggios follow after the masculine 1-minute main theme. That might sound beautiful for orchestra, but playing it with piano is not necessarily rewarding.
This arrangement by Belousova is a reconstruction from the original, and written very well as a piano work as if it was worked by Liszt or Rachmaninov. I saw the performance by the arranger herself in Youtube, and bought the score at once. I found a possibility of playing it in another way.
I am not fully satisfied with my performance in the first piece. The contrasts in the main theme, originally played by brass and strings, are not sufficient. Technically I had better takes, but I made a mistake of overflow of recording level. Otherwise I think I have done rather nicely for my limited technique and dynamic range. Imperial March is a masterpiece and could be played slowly like this.
instrument: Yamaha C3XA.
